Mortal Kombat XL tells a completely new story, part of which takes place 25 years after the events of Mortal Kombat. Therefore, we will not meet some of the previously present characters, although they were replaced with new ones, for example: Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, or Kotal Kahn, who was modeled after Aztec gods.
