Jurassic Park: The Game Reviews and more

Based on 4 critics - Overal Score: 68 / 100

GameInfo: On the stormy night when Jurassic Park fell apart, a desperate smuggler infiltrates Isla Nublar, hunting the precious canister containing the contraband dinosaur embryos. She collides literally with park staff trying to evacuate, and they become stranded amidst the collapsing park ruins, with the newly-freed dinosaurs on the loose. When InGen launches a perilous rescue operation, mercenaries, saboteurs, and survivors are thrown together in the struggle to escape the island.
In this intense adventure game based on the blockbuster film franchise, the survivors agendas clash, secrets of the park are exposed, and a new threat emerges: an eerie, nocturnal predator stalking the group, hunting them relentlessly across the island.

Critic Score

Alternative Magazine Online You can tell that Telltale are huge fans of the films by simply pausing to soak in the little details. The soundtrack by Jared Emerson-Johnson intersects beautifully with the original score. Minor mistakes from the original film have also been addressed, such as the live-link to the dock having a video status bar underneath, or the Velociraptors being far bigger than they were in real life. Heavy Rain was a far more technically polished game, but in the end, Jurassic Park: The Game tells a much more satisfying story. If you hate QTEs, by all means steer clear. Everyone else should be able to look past the occasional glitch and the lack of difficulty to enjoy what is undoubtedly the best Jurassic Park game ever made, yet no doubt destined to become the most underrated. Nave360 "Telltale are sort of like Valve (in a way) as they can’t seem to release their games on time. This was the case with Jurassic Park, where people on Steam had to wait a further 7 hours extra on the day of this games release. But at least this game was only delayed a few hours and not a few weeks. Jurassic Park: The Game is set out across four episodes all bunched together as one game package, whereas Back to the Future: The Game (also done by Telltale) was five episodes spread out across almost a year. From the entire game itself, I think it was a good choice that Telltale released all the episodes together in one complete package, because I don’t think the game would have held out if they were released separately across the months." DeltaGamer It’s not a game for everyone. The gameplay is definitely not for everyone. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not a good game either. It’s just an “interactive experience”. You know how many people said that if Heavy Rain was a movie, it would be an abysmal one? Well, at least Jurassic Park: the Game would be an alright one. That’s gotta count for something? Game Rant Jurassic Park: The Game follows a pretty archetypal family doing very archetypal things. The story plays it safe at the beginning, with the typical fractured daughter/father relationship that we’ve seen plenty of times before. Luckily, some witty writing and good, but not top tier, voice acting makes up for the cliches – still, Jurassic Park: The Game‘s narrative doesn’t venture anywhere near the intrigue captured on film.
