GameInfo: Sequence combines elements of both rhythm and role-playing games to create an entirely unique experience. Join Ky on his ascent of a mysterious Tower, guided onward by a mysterious girl named Naia. Encounter deadly monsters and ridiculous characters, and discover the grand scheme behind Ky's mysterious imprisonment...that is, if you can survive the journey.

IGN Sequence is, on paper, an interesting concept. You take a rhythm game (in this case, you play with a control pad or a keyboard, not by stomping on particular areas of the floor), slap on a whole mess of RPG elements and a lot of unnecessarily snarky dialogue and voila: you've got yourself a "hybrid" game, right? Gamespot Sequence is a disappointment--a game with some good ideas that fails to build on its initially impressive showing. The rhythm battle system might be marvellous, but when it's deployed in service of an RPG that's so vacuous and so repetitive, any enjoyment is quickly replaced with boredom. It's immensely frustrating that such innovative ideas have been so recklessly squandered. This is a game to try for that singular wow moment, perhaps--just don't expect to stick with it for long. SideQuesting Sequence tries so hard to succeed at a task that no one else gives much effort to, and unfortunately, it still isn’t enough. From the repetition in songs and the jarring battles, all the way to the conflicting fantasy and modern elements in them, nothing feels cohesive enough to warrant pushing forward in the already dull narrative. It is an intriguing attempt at revitalizing something in the rhythm game genre, flawed as it is, however it might be more appropriate to leave the genre alone until someone is willing to give it the full attention it deserves.
